May-Thurner Syndrome
May-Thurner Syndrome, also called Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome, occurs when the iliac vein is compressed between the iliac artery and the spine. Over time this compression weakens and narrows the vein at that point, restricting blood flow back to the heart and potentially leading to leg swelling, leg ulcers, and blood clots.
