Venous Disease
Venous disease occurs when the veins in the body start malfunctioning, causing blood to flow backward and accumulate rather than returning efficiently to the heart. About 1 in 3 Americans over the age of 45 suffer from some kind of vein disease. Left untreated, it can lead to chronic venous insufficiency, leg swelling and pain, varicose veins, spider veins, leg ulcers, and blood clots.
